Understanding learning differences and building positive coping strategies is extremely important. People with attention and learning differences often feel stigmatized and misunderstood. Counseling can support the integration of these differences into a positive self-concept.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a relatively short-term, focused therapy used for a wide range of psychological problems, including depression, anxiety, anger, conflict, and fears. Therapy focuses on how you are thinking, behaving, and communicating today rather than concentrating on your early childhood experiences. Studies have shown that CBT is as effective as medication for depression, anxiety, obsessions, and other fears. Furthermore, therapy includes self-help techniques, which enables patients to maintain and further their progress after therapy has been completed.

When you begin therapy with me, I will ask you to fill out a variety of self-report forms that assess a range of symptoms and concerns. These forms evaluate depressionanxietyangerfearphysical complaintspersonality, and relationships. The purpose is to gather information so that I can quickly assess your needs.
